Sands Expo to Become The Venetian Expo on Sept. 2

The Sands Expo Center, home to the SHOT Show, is getting a name change on September 2. The new name will be The Venetian Expo. The Venetian Congress Center, where the SHOT Show’s meeting rooms and ballrooms are located, will be renamed as The Venetian Convention Center. We look forward to welcoming everyone to The Venetian Expo and Convention Centers, and the adjacent Caesars Forum, in January for our biggest and best SHOT Show yet. — Chris Dolnack, NSSF

Venetian/Palazzo, as well as all of Clark County, Reinstate Employee Mask Requirement After Vegas COVID Uptick

As of this week, The Venetian, Palazzo and expo center began requiring their employees to wear face coverings following new recommendations from the Southern Nevada Health District. Last Friday, the health district issued a recommendation that people in Las Vegas begin wearing masks again in indoor settings, due to a COVID-19 uptick in the city, and then this past Tuesday, it became a mandate for employees of all businesses that interact with the public indoors.  This new requirement specifically does not apply to those visiting the city or its resorts. It will also be revisited in one month, as it is only expected to be in effect until the current surge in testing levels subsides. Trade shows and other events have not been affected by the change, with all events proceeding at pre-pandemic capacity levels. We are communicating regularly with our partners in Las Vegas and are hopeful the city’s current situation improves quickly. — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx

New Publisher for SHOT Daily

NSSF has entered into a partnership with Grand View Outdoors, a division of COLE Publishing, to publish SHOT Daily, the daily magazine of the SHOT Show, and NSSF’s SHOT Business magazine. Forty-year industry veteran Slaton White will continue as editor of both titles. SHOT Daily is a great resource for all in attendance at the show and provides a prime opportunity to reach buyers and media through advertising and editorial content. Exhibitors interested in advertising or learning more can reach out to publisher Derrick Nawrocki at derrick.nawrocki@grandviewoutdoors.com. — Bill Dunn, NSSF
