Wow, the floor is packed! This year’s crowd certainly feels like it may be largest, with nearly every booth packed with potential customers. I took some time to speak with the SHOT Show’s biggest sponsors, to see how the show was going for them. And to be honest, it took a bit of time to get to speak to them, as the staff at the booths was busy with customers, and that’s a good thing.
Daniel Defense’s Matt Allbritton was greatly pleased with the 2019 SHOT Show. “We are so excited about the release of our new Delta 5 bolt-action rifle, and thanks to the marketing support from the NSSF, we’ve had an incredible turnout here at our booth, with folks lining up to see the new rifle,” Allbritton related. The Delta 5 is worth the trip to the Daniel Defense booth, as it is the company’s first foray into the bolt-action world, and it’s available in 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester and 7mm-08 Remington. “We are very happy to be a sponsor of a trade show of this magnitude, and it has been plain to see that the investment is well worth it; we have had a full booth since the show opened,” said Allbritton. I can attest to the truth of that. As each of the staff members were busy with customers.
Over at the United States Concealed Carry Association, my pal Kevin Michalowski gave more positive feedback regarding the 2019 show. “We have a prime location in the lobby, and as a result of our relationship with the NSSF our brand has become highly recognizable. Brand awareness leads to increased business, and it has really paid off,” Kevin said. And it was plain to see that the booth was quite busy, with folks very interested in handgun training. “The NSSF staff is always a pleasure to work with, and the attendees are pleasant. Traffic was very high at our booth, and we’re all very happy about that.”
At the Head Down Firearms booth, I chatted with Bryan Lock and Adam Williams. “It’s our first year at SHOT Show, and it’s been an incredible experience. The Lobby traffic was been consistent, and especially heavy in the morning and late afternoon,” Williams said. Head Down has some rather handsome AR-platform rifles, across a wide spectrum of price points. “We were happy to introduce our HD15 Cornerstone rifle here at the show,” Lock related, “it’s our lower price point model and has been popular with our customers.” Both gentlemen were looking forward to returning to the show next year.
Chris Tedford of True Velocity – makers of composite-cased ammunition – was also pleased with this year’s turnout, and explained that their booth was busy for the show’s duration. “Being at SHOT has given us not only a good number of new customers, but has also presented us with some new business opportunities,” Tedford stated. “The load-in was easy, the NSSF staff – as well as the staff here at the Sands – have been very helpful, and we were pleased to be a sponsor.” I had to spend a bit of time discussing the True Velocity ammunition, as it deviates from the conventional brass casing, and I really enjoy the new and innovative approach. Take some time to swing by the True Velocity booth and check it out.
Until next year folks, your Man on the Floor is signing off. Safe travels home, and I’ll see you next year.
