Our colleagues at the Hunting Heritage Trust have just announced the addition of a very special “Henry-Turnbull President’s Collection” to the 2019 SHOT Show Auction. According to the press release issued by the Trust:
Seven new “Henry-Turnbull President’s Collection” rifles, all featuring serial numbers containing 001 are being featured as 2019 SHOT Show auction rifles.
Without doubt, two of the most popular and respected names among American firearm manufacturers and restorers today are Henry Repeating Arms and Turnbull Restoration.
These two iconic companies have partnered with Top Shot Armory, L.L.C. in the creation of a special series of popular Henry large-bore rifles finished with Turnbull Restoration’s classic bone-charcoal color case hardening.
For the 2019 SHOT Show rifle auction, Henry, Turnbull and Top Shot Armory have set aside Serial # 1 of each of the calibers offered in the new Henry Turnbull series and engraved each with a special “President’s Collection” insignia. Serial numbers on the “President’s Collection” rifles are THR44001, THR45001, THR357001, THR327001, THR41001, THR3030001 and THR4570001.
Henry, Turnbull and Top Shot Armory executives debated whether the seven rifles should be auctioned as a package or individually. Ultimately, the decision was made to auction the guns individually so as not to force a collector to purchase all seven guns when he or she might specialize in collecting only one caliber.
The Henry Turnbull Editions feature the signature Turnbull color-case hardening on five Henry Big Boy Editions including .44 Magnum, .45Colt, .357 Magnum, .327 FED Magnum and .41 Magnum. Rounding out the series of seven are the classic Henry .30-30 and .45-70 with color case hardening.
In addition to their reputation as world-class firearms manufacturers and restorers, Henry and Turnbull also top the list of SHOT Show auction bid leaders. Between them, the companies have created four special SHOT Show auction guns generating total high bids exceeding $275,000.00. In 2013, a color case-hardened Turnbull TAR-10 with Serial # TAR-000001 set the SHOT Show auction record with a high bid of $136,024. In 2018, the One Millionth Henry H001 with serial #1000000H brought a high bid $55,025.
The “President’s Collection” rifles are currently open for bid at the online auction house GunBroker.com. One of the seven rifles will also be on display at the GunBroker.com’s SHOT Show Booth #15147. The SHOT Show Auction is administered for the National Shooting Sports Foundation by the Hunting Heritage Trust.
